I am the mortar that fills in the cracks. I work where and when needed; and when not needed, I am standing by, ready to be called on to fill in another gap in the process. It's hard to name any one thing that I do, because I am just about everywhere at any time. This is how I run. This is how a good doula will support you. I have information, I have support techniques, I bring backup to your backup. Just filling in the cracks for a stronger structure, sometimes without even being seen, but doing my part to hold the critical parts together for the common goal. That's me!
How do you think you will need support? Think well on this, so you can direct your doula to give you what you need most. But if you can't figure that out right now, that is also okay. A good doula will have some ideas to help inspire you. We work together in the weeks before the birth, so that we will know how to act and what will most likely be needed at the time.
