I'm a firm believer in revealing my biases, so you know exactly what you get with me. There will be no "bait and switch" here. I do happen to be Christian, yes; but I pride myself very much on seeing past my own beliefs, and will be doing absolutely no preaching! You are your own person, just as I am mine; you and all of your values are as beautiful and unique as mine, and I have no business judging your beautiful and unique family- whatever that may look like for you. Whether you have a partner, a spouse, (gender is unimportant to me) or you will be birthing "stag", I am there for you.
I will actively support any and every religious preference, or lack thereof. I believe my God has called me to you and your baby, and you are both precious. You deserve the best support, and if I am the one who is to give that to you, then let it be that way. Nothing but love and support here.
As far as other birth-related concerns...I mean, I guess I would have some objection to birthing on construction equipment or in a dirigible or something...and on a more serious note, U-Birth (an intentionally unassisted birth, a birth with no medical provider present) really is beyond my scope, but beyond that- hey, you bring it, I support it!
When you are interviewing doulas, be sure to bring up questions like this, so you know you are all on the same page. You don't want your doula to pull a bait-and-switch on you, so make sure you don't do that to her! Spell it out, and the right doula will find you.
